Registered Charity Collections

House-to-house charitable collections, now more than ever, are an important source of income for local and national charities.

Charities or commercial companies collecting on behalf of charities are required to obtain a licence from us before they can run a house-to-house collection. This helps to ensure that collections are not carried out under false pretences or under fraudulent circumstances.

A list of those charities that are legally allowed to collect items this month are shown in the section below.

Annual Garden Competition


Garden Competition

There will be five entry classes:

1. Large Gardens
2. Small/Medium Sized Gardens
3. Caravan/Patio Gardens
4. Public House/Commercial Premises
5. Managed Open Spaces

Garden vouchers will be awarded to the winners in each class.

A trophy will be awarded to the overall winner.

Judging will take place on Tuesday, 9 July 2019
(Closing date for entries 1 July 2019)

Please complete the attached entry form or apply to the Town Clerk at the Town Hall for a copy.  Completed entry forms to be returned to the Town Hall by 1st July 2019.

Dementia Forward Lunchtime Cafe

Dementia Forward runs a lunchtime café for anyone affected by dementia every Tuesday 1pm 'til 3pm at the Town Hall. Come along for a light lunch, good company and activities, or simply pop in for a cuppa and a chat - a warm welcome awaits you. A specialist dementia nurse will regularly be available to provide support and guidance. Entry £3 including hot drinks and cake. £1 for soup and a roll.Call 01765 601224 for more information.
