Councillor World joined the Council in 1991.  He is the longest serving councillor on the Town Council and represents West Ward.

Councillor World is Chair of the Resources Committee, Vice Chair of the Community Committee and a member of the Markets and Planning Committees.

Councillor World is the current Mayor of Richmond and was Mayor of Richmond in 1996-97 & 2014-16 civic years.

The Mayor represents Richmond Town Council at Friends of Richmond Friary Community Hospital, Georgian Theatre and Richmondshire Museum meetings.
