15 August - VJ Day Memorial
On the 15th August, VJ Day, people gathered in front of the War Memorial at Friary Gardens to pay their respects.
My father was in Burmah and I vividly remember some of his recollections.
Many at the ceremony remembered Richmond people who had fought in the Far East. At least two became Prisoners of War, whilst others did not return.
Thank you to David for organising the proceedings, the Veterans Breakfast Club and all who attended. We must not forget!
