It iswas a great honour to open the twenty first Walking and Book Festival.

 

Originally a Walking Festival started by Mike Sheehan and joined later by Philip Wicks, then of Castle Hill Books. It has expanded to over a hundred events.

 

It lasts for ten days covering Richmond and the local area. Many people travel from afar, to join locals in the Boots and Books, Walks and Talks.

 

Thanks must go to the organisers, leaders and speakers.

 

The. Opening event was by Asad Qureshi. He spoke about his experience in 165 days under The Taliban.

The large audience were left stunned by all he went through and how it has affected his life.

 

Enjoy this years Festival and don't forget to book the dates for 2027.
