28 March - A Concert in Memory of Bob White
What a fantastic evening we had on Saturday at Richmond School for the concert with the British Army Band Catterick.
A huge thank you to the band for such a brilliant performance, it really was a privilege to have them here in Richmond.
This event meant a great deal, as it was originally organised by our late Mayor, Bob White. Bob was incredibly proud of his links with the armed forces community, and last year, although he was too unwell to attend, we were able to ensure he could watch the concert live from his hospital bed something that meant a great deal to him and me.
A very special thank you to Moira for organising this year’s event and continuing what Bob started. After everything she has been through, the strength and positivity she continues to show is truly inspiring. Her recent Investors in Richmond award is so richly deserved.
Moira has also been a huge support to both me and my wife Sherrie during our year as Mayor and Mayoress, and we are incredibly grateful.
Thank you as well to everyone who helped make the evening such a success, the team at Richmond School, all councillors involved, and of course my wife Sherrie for her continued support.
And finally, thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. It was a wonderful evening and a real success.
Cllr C Tate
Mayor of Richmond
