Annual St George's Day Service

As Mayor and Mayoress of Richmond, we had the honour of attending the Annual St George’s Day service at the iconic St Mary’s Church.
Before the service, we were privileged to witness James Blenkiron being installed as the new Master of the Company of Fellmongers, following in his fathers footsteps in a packed Council Chamber, a proud and historic moment for the town. As a Freeman of the Guild myself, it was particularly special to be part of this occasion.
It was a pleasure to be joined by fellow Masters of Guilds from York and further afield, reflecting the strong traditions and connections that continue to thrive.
Our sincere thanks go to the Past Master, Russell Lord, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to the Guild, and to the outgoing Clerk, Richard Sands, for his impeccable service. We wish them both every success for the future.
The evening concluded in the Town Hall with a wonderful gathering of food, friendship, and community spirit.
A truly memorable day celebrating heritage, service, and togetherness.
