Friary Hospital Visit - Christmas Eve

This evening, I had the absolute privilege of visiting the Friary Hospital in Richmond. Alongside the Mayoress, I met the incredible team who are working tirelessly this evening and throughout the festive period, caring for others when they could so easily be at home with their own families.
We also spent time with the amazing patients who are sadly spending this Christmas in hospital. Their strength, grace and kindness were truly humbling.
The compassion shown within the Friary walls is nothing short of extraordinary. From the dedicated nurses and doctors to the wider support staff, the care given goes far beyond medical treatment it is kindness, dignity and humanity in action.
It is for this very reason that I am proud to be supporting the Friends of the Friary Hospital as one of my chosen charities during my year as Mayor. The work they do to support both patients and staff is invaluable, and they truly make a difference when it matters most.
On behalf of the town of Richmond, thank you for all that you do. You are deeply appreciated, today and always, and our thoughts are with everyone at the Friary this Christmas. 🎄❤️
