Richmond Market Square & the iconic Richmond Castle

Richmond was proud to host a Mayoral Salute on Thursday, 9th October, set against the stunning backdrop of the Market Square and Richmond Castle, to commemorate RAF Leeming’s 85th Anniversary.

The event was a powerful symbol of the deep and enduring bond between Richmond and RAF Leeming — a relationship built over many decades of shared respect, service, and friendship.

As holders of the Freedom of the Town of Richmond, RAF Leeming’s aviators have long been part of the fabric of our community. Their parade and salute served as a fitting tribute to that connection — a celebration of the past, present, and future partnership between the Station and the town.

“Today, aviators from RAF Leeming proudly salute The Mayor of Richmond to commemorate our Station's 85th Anniversary.
