Shildon Civic Carol Service

As Mayor of Richmond, last night I had the pleasure of representing our town at the Mayor of Shildon, Councillor David Bell’s Civic Carol Service. It was a wonderful evening, with an excellent attendance and a warm sense of community throughout. The singing from Thornhill Primary School was particularly moving and added beautifully to the occasion.

My sincere thanks go to Rev’d David Payne of Shildon Methodist Church, Rev’d Carol Harris of St John’s CE Church, and Father Anthony Cornforth for leading the service, offering prayers, and sharing a thoughtful Christmas message.

Although we do not visit Shildon often, it is always a privilege to support fellow Mayors and to continue strengthening the important bonds between our towns.
