On Saturday afternoon I had the real honour, as Mayor of Richmond, to present the trophy to this year’s Wensleydale Football League champions, Unicorn F.C. 🏆

Huge congratulations to manager James Anderson and all the team on securing their 6th league title, cementing Ando's place in history as one of the most decorated managers in the league’s history. A remarkable achievement in a competition that proudly celebrated its centenary in 2019. This league over the years has seen some incredible players and produced some of the finest battles seen in the dale. What made the day even more special was seeing local managers from across the league sending messages of congratulations to the Unicorn team and their esteemed manager, a true reflection of the respect and camaraderie that defines grassroots football. Grassroots sport is the heartbeat of our community, and it thrives thanks to the support of Scotts for Storage, Len Scott, and the many local sponsors who provide team strips and post-match hospitality throughout the league.
