As Mayor of Richmond, I was delighted and proud to once again represent our wonderful town, on Sunday at the North Yorkshire Council Civic Service 2026, held in the stunning setting of All Saints' Church.
It was a truly uplifting morning, bringing together civic leaders from across the county in such a beautiful and historic place. My sincere thanks to Chair, Councillor George Jabbour, for hosting a superb event, and to Reverend Melanie Burnside for delivering a warm and inspiring service.
It was a pleasure to see His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Jo Ropner, along with the High Sheriff, Sir Andrew Lawson-Tancred, and so many fellow Mayors and Chairs. The church was wonderfully full, a real testament to the strength, pride and spirit of our communities across North Yorkshire.
Although I was unable to stay for the refreshments and networking event due to family commitments, I thoroughly enjoyed a lovely morning in sunny Helmsley and greatly valued the opportunity to represent Richmond on such a special occasion.
